Attadale Holiday Cottages

Attadale Holiday Cottages

Attadale is ideally situated for those looking to escape to peace and quiet.

The four holiday cottages are a mile up a single track road with no passing traffic except the occasional tractor or estate vehicle. Beyond is a locked gate so no-one except those living and working at Attadale will drive past. It’s safe for children to cycle and explore.

Nature surrounds the cottages, look out for ravens, buzzards and much more. Eight red squirrels were reintroduced in 2017 and have multiplied since then At most times of year you may even see red deer grazing outside your cottage.

You can walk for miles up into the hills. If you want to fish for brown trout, there are many hill lochs to choose from - after a walk.

Attadale Gardens

A unique garden started over a hundred years ago with ancient rhododendrons supplied by the plant hunters and now the size of trees.

Twenty acres filled with a wide variety of trees, many planted after a series of storms in the late 1980s meant Nicky Macpherson created an artist’s garden with waterfalls, Monet bridges, pathways to explore and a series of fascinating places that include a Japanese garden, a fern garden and an impressive kitchen garden.

Twenty sculptures are scattered through the garden providing children with an added incentive to explore. Entry free while staying in the holiday cottages.

Attadale Estate

Attadale Estate

Attadale is a 30,000 acre estate in the North West of Scotland. It stretches from the south shore of Loch Carron to Loch Monar, 15 miles away to the east.

Attadale offers you the chance to explore and enjoy one of the last truly wild areas in Scotland. If you base yourself here, you will be surrounded by nature but also ideally placed for touring the North West Highlands.

We are only 3 miles off the North Coast 500 route and provide a gateway for those travelling up the West coast to join it. To the North are Applecross, Loch Torridon, Loch Maree and the famous gardens of Inverewe, while South you can explore Kintail, Glenelg, Eilean Donan castle and the Isle of Skye.

The railway line from Inverness to Kyle and while we’re at it, we could add on the end - catch the train at Attadale station to visit Plockton, Inverness or Kyle of Lochalsh
